I've got an '03 Mazda6 and it does not have an auxiliary audio input jack. It does, however, have the upgraded Bose audio system and sound very nice. I've included a couple of links that show that you can play music from your Bluetooth enabled device, and that in the '10 models, an auxiliary audio jack is standard on all trim levels.

On some of the higher trims (and likely it would be the case for the brand new Mazda 6 on all trim levels) you can find an AUX input. However, when it comes to an older Mazda 6 model it may very well not be there. To do it right, if it's a big issue, I would take the car to the dealer and have them install an iPod module. Probably a couple hundred bucks. That way your steering wheel controls, display, etc will all work with your iPod. If you look around online you'll find that some other Mazda 6 owners have kind of come up with their own fix for this issue. I don't generally necessarily recommend that people go to their Mazda dealer for just anything but on this one I think I would. Many Mazda 6 models have an in dash 6-CD changer (as mine does) -non-MP3. I burn my songs through iTunes on to a regular CD and than just fill up my changer with 6 of them. It's not a bad alternative to what you're trying to do although of course you won't have 10,000 songs at your disposal that way. More like 120 songs at a given time.
